Planning your SHINE Together experience

On Thursday 15 October, we'll be bringing together colleagues from across the housing sector for SHINE Together, a day dedicated to collaboration, innovation and tackling shared challenges.

One of the most valuable aspects of SHINE Together is the opportunity to tailor the day to your interests and priorities. With a choice of workshops running throughout the event, delegates can build a personalised programme focused on the challenges and opportunities most relevant to their role and organisation.

From artificial intelligence and data management to customer voice, homelessness prevention and regulatory change, October’s sessions have been designed to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and practical problem solving across the sector.

Session One

Choose from one of the following workshops:

·       AI in Social Housing - in partnership with Dynamo

Artificial intelligence is moving quickly from theory into everyday practice. Building on the SHINE AI Toolkit, this workshop will bring together housing professionals to share practical tools, frameworks and lessons learned from their own AI journeys.

Discussions will cover everything from identifying use cases and assessing risk to measuring value and return on investment. Attendees will also explore the potential for a collaborative project to tackle a common challenge using AI.

Who should attend? Colleagues working in digital, technology, data, innovation, transformation, strategy or business improvement roles.

·       New to OneMap

If you've heard about OneMap but aren't sure how it works, this session is for you.

Discover how sharing data through OneMap can help unlock new collaboration opportunities, strengthen decision-making and support better outcomes across the housing sector. You'll leave with a clear understanding of how to get involved and the benefits it can bring to your organisation.

Who should attend? Data leads, procurement leads, investment planning professionals, social purpose teams and anyone interested in sector collaboration.

·       Customer Voice: Turning Insight into Action

Housing organisations gather vast amounts of customer feedback, but how can we ensure it leads to meaningful change? This interactive workshop will focus on turning insight into action, exploring service recovery, service improvement and how to create a culture where customer feedback drives decision-making across the organisation. Practical examples from across the sector will help delegates identify new ways to improve services and customer outcomes.

Who should attend? Customer experience, customer insight and engagement teams, scrutiny and resident involvement colleagues, service improvement professionals, operational managers and anyone responsible for acting on customer feedback.

Session Two

Choose from one of the following workshops:

·       OneMap: Asset Management

How can shared data help solve common asset management challenges? This workshop will bring together professionals from across the sector to identify opportunities for collaboration through OneMap, with particular focus on garages and other asset-related challenges that could benefit from a collective approach.

Who should attend? GIS managers, data analysts, asset managers and surveyors.

·       Awaab's Law

With implementation deadlines approaching, housing providers are working hard to prepare for Awaab's Law. This session will explore the approaches organisations are developing, the challenges they're facing and the opportunities to collaborate on solutions that support compliance while improving outcomes for customers.

Who should attend? Those working in repairs, asset management, compliance, customer service, ICT, project management and neighbourhood services.

·       Defect Management

Defect management remains a challenge for many organisations, particularly where multiple teams and systems are involved. This practical discussion session will provide an opportunity to share experiences, discuss common issues and explore approaches that can improve efficiency, communication and customer satisfaction.

Who should attend? Anyone involved in defects, repairs, maintenance, development, customer service or operational performance.

·       A Regional Approach to Homelessness Prevention

This workshop will explore how housing associations, local authorities and regional partnerships can work together more effectively to tackle homelessness challenges across the North East. Delegates will hear about current priorities, opportunities for collaboration and how data, insight and tools such as OneMap can support earlier intervention and better outcomes for people at risk of homelessness.

Who should attend? Housing association and local authority colleagues working in homelessness, housing options, tenancy sustainment, strategy, digital, data and partnership roles.

Session Three

Choose from one of the following workshops:

·       Digital Twins and Synthetic Personas: Strengthening Customer Voice

Emerging technologies are creating new ways to understand customer needs and test service improvements before they're implemented. This session will showcase how digital twins and synthetic personas can support customer insight, strengthen engagement and help organisations make more informed decisions.

Who should attend? Customer experience, engagement, digital, innovation, transformation and insight professionals looking to explore new approaches to understanding customers.

·       Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRs)

As housing providers prepare for the next phase of STAIRs, this workshop offers an opportunity to share lessons learned, compare approaches and discuss how organisations can strengthen transparency and accountability. Expect practical discussion and peer learning focused on real-world implementation.

Who should attend? Colleagues responsible for customer experience, governance, communications and information management.

·       Practical Data Management for Social Housing

Good quality data underpins effective decision-making. This workshop will explore practical approaches to data governance, improving data quality and establishing sustainable data management processes. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss challenges, share learning and identify ways to bring colleagues on board with better data practices.

Who should attend? Data analysts, data governance specialists, managers working in assets, repairs, neighbourhoods and insight teams, as well as anyone involved in improving organisational data quality and governance.
